Ok guys, this is my 4th AR, and my first mid-length build. It is based around a Knights Armament SR-15 upper (longer than a conventional mid-length) and a Spike's tactical lower. I wanted this to be an extremely soft and fast shooter.

I'm open to advice on anything I may have overlooked and/or missed. Here is what I have ordered thus far:

- Knights Armament SR-15 E3 upper
- Gieselle 3-gun trigger (S3G)
- Magpul Moe plus pistol grip
- Magpul Bad lever
- Magpul Moe trigger guard
- Magpul RVG
- PSA parts kit
- VLTOR A5 mil-spec stock kit
- BCM Gunfighter Mod 3 charging handle (long lever)
- Noveske QD end plate
- Battlecomp 1.0
- Extended take down pins
- Rad lock
- B.A.D. ambidextrous safety selector

Once the wallet recovers, I'm going to finish it off with an ACOG TA31 with BDC. Not sure of the reticle design or color yet, although I am leaning towards the chevron style.

Should be a very soft shooter with the proprietary KAC upper, Battle Comp 1.0 and the VLTOR A5.

Any suggestions? Comments?

Replace the Battlecomp 1.0 with a Surefire MB556 brake.

I would also go with regular take down pins instead of the extended ones. Plus I'm pretty sure the mod 5 is the long latch for the gunfighter, not the mod 3. Other than that, very nice build, second the call for the surefire.

My upper will be here on Friday, and all my lower parts should be here by mid next week.

Will have to baseline this this upper by shooting it with another lower that has a standard buffer assembly in it minus a compensator. Will be interesting to see the before/after.

With the combo of the mid-length gas and the A5 stock, you may have to play with the buffer weight. Mine will function fine with std brass cased rounds but will choke a bit on Tula/Wolf as they do not have the same pressure. (has zero to do with brass vs steel casing).
Yes, its a very soft combo and my preferred weapon of choice.

BTW, I would not go with the surefire if you value your shooting neighbors. While the SF is a fine comp, it has a greater side blast vs the BC.

Thanks for the heads up. I assumed it wouldn't do well with Tula/Wolf, so I only plan to run higher quality brass-cased ammo and handloads through it.

Put this baby together during the week. MAN do I love this rifle. The S3G trigger is amazing. I just placed an order for a Fenix TK11 and Viking Tactic mount.

Will post some pictures and videos tomorrow after I get back from the range.

Here's a crappy iPhone pic to tide you over. Still need to install the Battle Comp 1.0. Will have that on tomorrow.

For now, I'm using a Primary Arms M4 clone until I get my Acog.

That's the Knight's Armament Micro 600m sight which comes standard with the SR-15 upper.

P.S. I ended up swapping the RVG for an AVG from another AR of mine.

Nice, looks like that bc makes a difference for follow up shots. Going on my next build.

No doubt about it. This, combined with the VLTOR A5 and KAC gas system makes it an incredibly soft shooting and controllable rifle.

Isn't the A5 wonderful? I've got that on my 20" build. I absolutely love it. One of these days I'm going to get a nice brake instead of the A2 flash hider, and really get the full benefit.

Oh I'm completely sold on the A5 system. It will be going on all future builds from this point out. I have a carbine with an Emod and a standard Vltor buffer assembly. Going to have upgrade to the A5 on that rifle as well.

Just picked up an Acog TA31 with Larue QD mount. I also added a Fenix TK31 with Viking Tactic mount.

This baby is finally done!!

Isn't it a fantastic trigger? Everybody that has shot my AR is amazed by it!
