Are all threads cut into an ar15 muzzle the same? I am building my first ar piece by piece, recently got a white oak armament '18 spr mid gas barrel. I have searched high and low for info on the threads but have had no success. Sorry for noob question :cheers2:

1/2 X 28 Is on the AR-15 for most calibers.

Thank you Nathan. When looking online for muzzle brakes/flash hiders, there seems to be no information on how they are threaded. I don't want to buy one only to find it doesn't fit. Any more info you could give me would be great.

Its 1/2 by 28 unless other wise specified. Do you have a certain intent for the the break?
I run a couple white oaks. I also built one for a friend using the same barrel. He is running this
As well as I am on almost all my rifles. Its a great barrel, and as far as the break goes. It wont wander around due to the weight and caliber.
This is also a great break, but it shoots a flame out of it! So it leaves a decent signature.

Thank you very much for the informative reply kimikalembalance. I don't really have a specific intent for the muzzle break. I just want it to reduce the muzzle climb a little bit and look cool. Its for an "spr" build. I really like the battlecomp, but its kind of expensive. I will probably save up and get it anyway :cool2:
