Looking for a large safe. Something like...

http://www.lowes.com:80/pd_141134-10283-CE12-BK_0__?productId=3560760&Ntt=gun+safe&pl=1&currentURL=%2Fpl__0__s%3FNtt%3Dgun%2Bsafe&facetInfo=

Anyone know some good deals? Budget is about 1k but I'll pay a couple hundred more if the deal is amazing.

Costco has a safe special going, but the smaller, cheaper safe is sold out. I'd rate the Bighorns as better than the Centurion.

I got my Winchester 45 off evil-bay. Straight from the manufacture shipping included.

if you are going to buy a new safe... imo the greatest advantage to doing so is getting a warranty. check out the credibility/customer service ratings of the manufacturer before deciding which brand or model of safe to buy. a warranty is about as good as the company backing it up.

Anyone looking for outstanding deals on safes in the SoCal area, look on CL in Mohave County, AZ.

A guy named Troy (ret le) drives to the IE, picks up a dozen at a time, and sells them at a very good price. The safe I bought from him is easily a $1200 safe and I got it for $800.

If you are on his way back to Havasu, I bet he wouldn't charge for delivery. He gets various brands and various configurations.

I am looking for one too. However, I only have 4 guns, and don't plan on buying more than 1-2 more ever, so I don't need a safe that holds 10-18 guns. The other thing, though, is that I would like a 45 minute to 1 hour fire protection, and I would like to spend between $400-$700 at the most. Am I going to be able to find all that in a safe, because I haven't seen it.

Any idea where he's picking them up in the Inland Empire?

Troy must be making a profit, which means it would be even more cost effective to cut out "Troy," and buy from Troy's supplier.

True, but I have no idea if the supplier sells single units to the public. I believe one of the brands is in La Verne, and I think another brand he buys is in Sun Valley (LA).

Mine is a stealth, so you could try googling that and see what you can find.

Yes you can make that happen. I'm sure you've heard this before, but go bigger than you think you'll ever need. Even if you only plan on having a few guns, the rest of the safe can store extra ammo, mags, gun accessories, etc.

Just a thought.

Cannon Safes through Costco, also call Cannon (they're in Ontario, Ca) and ask which of their distribs has the best deal. I use Dean's safes because their delivery guys aren't casing your house for a future robbery like many generic shipping truck guys…

Cannon has a great guarantee and they are a CA company.

buy larger than you know you'll need; it is a common mistake to misjudge the size one needs. a safe fills up very fast... with or without future gun purchases.

with the budget you've given... consider buying from the secondary market; again... imo CL is a great source to buy from. i've seen some good deals here on the forum as well.

I bought a 16 gun safe a few years back. I had a few rifles and a couple of handguns. Now i have 23 guns crammed in there and i have my new m14 project fixing to be finished in a couple of weeks, with no more room in my safe. bigger is definitly better brother.

also dont get an 03 ffl unless you plan on getting a bigger safe too.
