14" or 16"?

I recommend Noveske and BCM. Got a Noveske 14.5" midlenght upper shoots real smooth.

ap3,
You have virtually asked about every semi auto rifle. You should know who makes one by now. If your guys SPR .223. Mix it up and go White Oak. Now start using the search button or look in your own post hisory.

 Wait, they make those?! :D

OP, I like my BCM, and the Daniel Defense that I just put together. Anything chambered for 5.56 will work flawlessly with .223, so you should be safe with any middy on the market.

Sorry. .223 16"

You sure you want .223 and not 5.56? if you get a 5.56 you can shoot .223 out of it.

I dont think now adays you cant find too many manufacturers that make .223 only uppers.

Why 223?

223 only shoots 223

5.56 shoots both 5.56 and 223.

Your limiting your self.

Noveske, BCM, DD, and Spikes do NOT make .223 uppers. They make 5.56 uppers. For .223 Uppers, maybe look at RRA, Del Ton, Hesse, Vulcan, or DPMS.

In my opinion, Knights Armament SR-15 E3 upper. Gas system is slightly longer than a mid length, but shorter than a rifle length, and you get all the benefits of the E3 bolt system.

You state .223 so are you looking for a Varmint upper?

If by saying .223 you really meant 5.56, then the choices are many. I've had great experience with Bravo and Daniel. The great thing about bravo is the number of choices in rails available in the build, bbl lengths, etc.

Can't help you with a .223 chambered midlength recommendation.

I have a noveske 16 midlength. Its a great shooter and lightweight. It is 5.56 not just .223 though.
