Just got my Desert Eagle .44 back from Robar. Looks bad ***, only problem I had was it took forever. Ok so only 2 months, but it felt like a long time. They did great work though, see for yourself! Let me know what ya think.

Wow! The finish looks amazing! If the finish on my glock ever wears, I'll definitely be getting Np3

What did it cost to have it refinished?

What did it cost to have it refinished?

Cost about $250, but you gotta figure in next day fedex both ways since that's the legal way to ship handguns, that's probably another $100, and I got their 2006 prices since I sent it in January, but they could be a little higher by now. My advice is to check their website for specials, they frequently put up promotional prices, they even had a Valentines day sale. I'd bet they have another sale at anytime.

better yet, if they do have a valentine's day sale, tell your love one you want that for your "gift". :D but since that's over, try other holidays hehe.

Yeah, here's a before picture. As you can see it was showing it's age.

Okay, I'll do you a favor and buy it from you for the price you paid for the finish, and shipping.

;)

That thing looks friggen awesome. Definately a nice pistol to be proud of.

Cheers.

The Robar finish looks outstanding. Definitely something I will have to keep in mind for refinishing. Nice looking weapon!

I had them do my CZ75 SA as I pulled a certificate off a prize table. The finish is real slick to the touch and looks great. It's almost self lubricating.

And it didnt help that you polished most of the bluing off that one night with that wierd rag of mystery, lol.

That's actually a really good idea for the DE. According to a DE-related website I read a while back, the parkerization was really bad on a number of DE's, mine included. This tends to result in a readiness to rust, which I've run into a few times.

Since the factory screwed up, I really think it would be a nice gesture for Magnum Research pay half on redoing badly parked DE's with NP3... but from what I've seen, MR views the bad finish as the customer's problem, not theirs.

I know what you're talking about, that "before" picture is actually a picture I took after degreasing it completely and boiling it in distilled water for about 5 hours, which really helped get rid of the redish tint it was beginning to show. Then one day I took a lead remover rag to it not realizing that takes black oxide right the **** off, that was the final straw so I sent her in! ;)
