DDM4V7

Im looking for an optic in the 1500 or less zone. Its primarily going to be a paper puncher off the bench but I want more of a lower powered optic. Variable optics are fine but I dont really see myself changing the magnification. I want something tough that will last with good glass. These are the ones I have been eyeing:

ACOG TA31H
Trijicon Accupoint 1-4x
Nightforce 1-4x24 NXS
Nightforce 2.5-10x32 NXS
Burris XTR

Thanks for the help.

Update:

Since I couldnt decide I figured Id go with an affordable test scope to see what features I liked and didnt that would better help me pick a higher end scope down the line. I went with the Nikon M-223 3-12x42 with the 600 BCD reticle. Heading to the range tomorrow to try it out. I also added a Geissele SD-E trigger.

I'm curious about this myself? Been looking at EOTech 512.

NSN 1240-01-554-4488. Now you can use the same sights used by our Military, proven to be accurate and guarantees the "hit". Mounts on flat top weapons or Picatinny rail systems and super-imposes an aiming dot on your target, very fast acquisition, rugged design is combat proven, waterproof to 10 feet, uses "AA" batteries, 5" overall with one MOA dot. Model 512 Tactical Sight.
Cheaper than Dirt has them for $409.

Ya. Really looking for a magnified optic and not a red dot though. If I were it would be Aimpoint not EOTech.

For bench shooting, I'd get the one with the highest magnification. For run-n-gun, look at several 1-4X scopes now available.

Just bought a Burris XTR 14...It's a 1-4. I really do like it, but the illumination isn't as good as a red dot, however, shooting with an etched reticle at 1x isn't bad at all. I really like being able to go from 1-4 and for the price it's solid. Not to mention, USA made. Not to mention, lifetime warranty.

I'll replace it with the S&B or Premier 1-8 when they become available.

I've been looking at the Valdada IOR

Compact size and a bit more magnification.

SWFA SS 1-4x24 HD for best bang for your buck.

Vortex Viper 1-4x24 PST if you need to go a little cheaper.

Zeiss 3-9x40MC Conquest 400 bucks retail price. Zeiss optics and quality.

EDIT: if you're punching paper you don't need mil dots or whizbang cost adders. Quality glass, quality scope, quality company.

Get the Nightforce 2.5-10x32 with zero stops. You will not be sorry. The Acog is nice also but you'll end up wishing you had more magnification at the longer ranges. With the acog you can hit man sized targets at 600-700 yards. With the nightforce you can make headshots at those same distances.

Very similar to my setup. I just picked up a Leupold mark AR 3-9 and put it in a Larue SPR mount and I got the SD-E trigger as well. We were shooting milk jugs at 430 yds no problem. I liked the SD-E so much that I got the SD-3G for my other rifle, one word, siiiick

Do you like the SD-3G better than the SD-E?

I dont know if I'd say better........just different. Some people think it's unsafe and that's way off the mark. As long as you dont walk around with your finger on the trigger:facepalm: it wont go off
