Does anyone know where one would find a lone upper receiver (stripped/no bbl etc...) chambered for 6.8 SPC? Or do they use standard .223 uppers? I'm quite unclear as to what new "stuff" goes into a 6.8 rifle besides the bbl, the mags, and the BCG. I know the lower receivers are the same.

ETA: I've looked everywhere, but I can't seem to find anything besides complete upper assemblies in 6.8

The upper receivers and bolt carrier for 6.8 are the same as those used in 6.5, 9mm, .223, 45, 5.56, 7.62X39, 300 Whisper, .204 Ruger, .22LR, .17 Remington.

The chamber is incorporated into the barrel. Change the barrel, change the caliber of the upper.

For 6.8, change the barrel. Change the bolt. Change the magazine.

The bore of any muzzle attachments has to be changed as well: you might have some trouble squeezing a 0.277" diameter projectile traveling in excess of 2,500 fps through a hole just over 0.224" in diameter.

PRI makes a nice a muzzle break and 308 muzzle devices will work.
