View Full Version : Tikka T3 caliber

So I'm trying to decide between a 243 and a 7mm-08. The gun will be used for hunting and will be in a stainless synthetic set-up. I have a 30-06 so I want the lighter caliber like one of these. Just want some opinions on the rounds, thanks.

Can you get the Tikka in 25.06?
Can use the same brass as your 30.06 for reloading if your into that.

As I said before 7mm-08. You can shoot mine if you want since we are very near eachother and I have a range. I also have a Tikka in 6.5X55 and it is a great combo.

If I had that choice (and it's not a bad one to have...) I think I'd go 7-08, also. When hunting (unless you're shooting little critters like ground squirrels), it's better to have more gun than you might need than not enough and force it into a stretch. By that I mean a 7mm will do a lot of things a .243 shouldn't be asked to do. I think a 7-08 is a most versatile choice.
