My wait is finally over! (I've been waiting to get my hands on one of these since i saw the fixed mag top loaders years ago) Brought home my Daniel Defense M4V1 that I bought from another Calgunner on the forum. I couldn't be happier with the purchase and the service from PD Gun Supply over in San Fernando CA. Dimitri knows his stuff and has great customer service so what more could you ask for in this business! I can't wait to head over to the range and feed this thing some 5.56! I have been reading a lot of posts and threads here about the AR platform so just wanted to thank Calguns and everyone on the forum that spreads great info on the legal aspects and about the platform itself, it really helped in making my decision on the DD brand and also knowing what i can and cannot do as far as CA laws are concerned!

Thanks guys! I really love the AR platform because of all the products there are out there that can make the gun so custom. I'm really into modding cars and i have been doing that for a decade now and was looking for a new cool hobby. I'm really happy the gun came with the FSC556 comp, the Magpul MIAD grip, and the B.A.D. Lever.. So far i added the extended Magpul butt-pad and i ordered the BCM gunfighter mod 4 charging handle. I also picked up a couple of Vltor quick detach sling swivels and a Crosstac Ambi sling but i think I'll ditch it when i can pick up the MS3 sling from Magpul. Also for the holidays my girl got me the Lucid HD7 optic and i picked up a Magpul rear flip MBUS. More than anything else i just want to buy up a bunch of quality 5.56 and take her out to the range ASAP!

I also just picked up a Vamfire M.L.D bullet button, for some reason the BB external part on my gun right now sticks out pretty far from the lower and just looks a bit odd compared to there BB's that I've seen. Is that just how some of them are? Also what does everyone think of the KNS anti-roll pin kit? Worth anything on a semi-auto?

Awesome rifle! I wouldn't mod it too much, and just start saving for that optic. Based off the specs of it, and you getting the BCM charging handle your more than ready to go. I wouldn't spend money on the KNS pins, that can be extra money towards a aimpoint or eotech.

Go shoot it already !!!!!!!!! :D

Nice rifle there though! I got three new firearms that need some shooting also! :D

Very nice! I love the AR movement. Welcome to the club!

In regards to the anti creep pins, I have them in both my ARs. As your quote says: "Better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it." They are pretty cheep insurance in my book. If just one pin creeps 1/16 of an inch or so your rifle could go down.

Now you need to start a good ole optics debate...haha.

They're made that way so that someone can't stick a skinny finger in and release the mag...

Congrats on the new rifle!

Yeah i agree with you on the KNS kit, I'll make some family member buy it for me for the holidays and spend that money on more ammo!! :D

With the optics for now i got the Lucid HD7 sight as a gift and i will have it on before i go to the range so i hope it works as well as people have been saying they do for what it costs. I got it on black Friday for less than half the price of the cheapest Eotech and I'm not expecting it to be the best holo sight out there but I'm hoping it works well enough at the range to hit some targets and have some fun! Down the road I'll probably spend on an Eotech or an Aimpoint with a magnifier but for now I have to rebuild the heads or maybe even the block on my Saleen (blew it up racing, long story) so for now I'm holding off on the expensive parts like the optics and just buying parts that make the gun more reliable and function best, not that it doesn't come that way from DD but like i said i like to mod anything, but in good taste..

Nice choice for the first AR.

Now convert it to GPU and mall ninja stuff.

Congrats on the new rifle!

I fixed it. I removed the whole BB and noticed that it got stuck halfway going into the lower and not seating all the way in so it was sticking out a little more than a 1/4" more than it was supposed to and so the mag release was a lot deeper, even the raddlock tool wouldn't reach it. I lightly sanded down the edges of the side that goes into the lower and cleaned it up, put it back in and it hit the bottom with a snug fit, now the raddlock tool works and it sits the way it should have in the lower. I ordered the Vamfire earlier but i should've just waited until i got home but oh well, live and learn..

Nice! Got my BCM Gunfighter today! Just so you guys know, there is someone selling them on Ebay not in original packaging for $39.99 shipped no tax and they are legit.

Here it is with the Magpul Mbus, Lucid HD7 optic, 10/30 Pmag, and the other various Magpul parts on there, also picked up a Vamfire MLD BB.. I think i am gonna ditch the DD VFG for a Magpul AFG1, i feel like i have more control over the rifle holding it from the rail than i do the VFG, I am hoping the AFG will be a good middle between the 2.

I would personally throw a VLTOR Stock on it, I did that to my DDM4 I built and love it 10 times more than the CTR/MOE stock

Awesome...looks a lot like my first AR, which happens to be built on a Daniel Defense M4V1 upper.

Gotta love the quality of Daniel Defense products, especially their hand guards.

I'll get there, I'm gonna put some money down on ammo and range time before i get into the cosmetics, I was looking over the Vltor E and I mod stocks, they do look very nice!
