Looking for a 14.5 barrel, lightweight, without a pinned brake/flash under $250. The bcm would be perfect but who knows when those will be in stock. Any leads would be apperciated

Rainier Arms is a start

On a side note, I think you would have to do a little digging to find a lightweight 14.5 at the moment. I do think Noveske has them on Rainier Arms. Good luck.NVM

Is it a no no to purchase a 14.5" barrel not pinned if you have a lower already in possesion that is not a pistol lower? I would think this would be considered a constructive possesion of a sbr.

Just a question not trying to spread FUD.

You're right to be careful yes, but afaik there is no constructive possession law in CA. Just have to make sure you comply with NFA. I thought a barrel by itself was just considered a tube.

^^^ This ^^^ is the way i understand it.

One retailer had the 14.5 and shorter listed as NFA items and would only sell to LE.
I claim FUD that it is a gun part only. Not inherently dangerous as a FA TG. A FA TG is NFA everytime, there is no ordinary use such as an AR pistol for the barrel.

The DOJ threat phone calls have scared many retailers out of Cal presumably. Another major retailer would not sell folding rimfire stocks to Cal. No good reason other than it could be a violation if a 16" barrel were used. That is the users responsibility. Why they still fear prosecution for selling a legal gun part baffels me , or the DOJ has some vicious phone skills.

SO if you cannot order one, how does one go about getting it pinned/welded? you have to send it directly to a GS?

You can buy what ever barrel lengths you like. PERIOD

Wheather you are in constructive possesion is a different story.

AFAIK, owning a bare barrel without an upper to put it in should be okay.

Correct or no? Anyone?

Midway sells Daniel defense barrels for $256. I'm going to get one myself this next paycheck.

Just take your short barrel and do the pin and weld at a friends house then bring the barrel home and install it. Just don't forget to slide on the barrel nut and your gas block first! Lol

Palmetto state has 14.5" barrels for 229, 1:7 chrome lined 556 and midlength.

I would really get a 16" though no need for NFA BS.
