What online shop has the LMT sopmod for the cheapest?

I found it at pk firearms for $189, is that as cheap as it's gonna get?

I just bought the B5 Sopmod complete kit from Rifle Gear for $157.49 (comes with the endplate, castle nut, buffer, buffer tube, buffer spring and the Sopmod butt stock) it is exactly the same as the LMT Sopmod.

LMT SOPMOD complete: http://www.riflegear.com/p-809-lmt-sopmod-complete-assembly.aspx

I donít want to :threadjacked: but your title is vague enough so... :p

Donít flame me please, Honest question:
why are these stocks so expensive?

My buddy has one on his patrol rifle, and I do like the fit and feel but almost $300 for a stock is expensive no?

Is it the water tight compartment? or because the army used them so they demand a premium?

Thanks for an honest answer :)

These are my absolute favorite stocks.
If your ebay savy, look there. I bought two of those B5 SOPMOD stocks for $150.
I have to disagree on the B5 being identical. My B5, when you move the rifle, the adjustment lever has a little play. Anyone else notice this?

You can usually pickup the GEN I LMT SOPMOD stocks for $100. The difference in GEN I & GEN II is the QD sling attachment on the GEN II.

The B5s are very close to the LMT SOPMODs but not exact. Also, the B5s that are on the civilian market are slightly different from the version B5 makes for the military (retail/OEM version has textured finish, one piece stainless steel QD swivel mount, sure grip stock latch). These are considered enhancements over the military versions, hence the "Enhanced SOPMOD" name. If you are looking for an LMT SOPMOD, I would not hesitate in considering the B5 Systems Enhanced SOPMOD.

I sell the B5s as well and they are definitely high demand.

Something tells me LMT sopmod stocks will be going down in price. They'll have to if they want to compete with B5 sopmods.

Honestly, I think it's because they can. They are about 199 new for the stock only.
That being said, it's my favorite AR stock, so I've just sucked it up and paid that. Worth it?
I don't know. There are others much cheaper that are very good, but for me the sopmod is the stock. So it's worth it to me, which is all that really matters. I don't have to justify it to anyone, even my wife. ;-) I'd like to check out a b5 in person and see how the fit compares.
If its equal, then LMT is going to have lower prices or they're not going to sell many more.

Thought you guys might get a kick out of this... or rather... get pissed, depending on whether you own one or not. ;)

Yea, But he also gets to write off his gear @ the end of the year and I don’t. It could be $1000 to him he’d still buy it.

Gov. contract stocks are slightly different, but the dimensions are the same.

Anyone have both the B5 and the LMT? I know they are dimentionally identical but is one more rugged or loose than the other?

I have the LMT Sopmod on my BCM carbine. I also have the B5 Sopmod on both my Colt carbines. The stocks are identical except for the manufacturer stamps. Both are Gen 2 stocks with the QD mounts which work great.

I ordered the B5 stocks from G&R Tactical.

Both are identical, I compared both the LMT SOPMOD and the B5 SOPMOD side by side before buying the B5 Sopmod, why pay more for the exact same thing, as m3zona posted above, only the manufacturing stamps (brands) are different.

because lmt sopmods have an nsn number and to my knowledge the price cannot be lowered for the civilian market if thats what they are charging the gov't
