Assuming that CDNN will pull the floor plate prior to shipping, are These (http://www.cdnninvestments.com/ar230stisoma.html) good reliable magazines?

They look like the standard USGI mags. I have about 6 of these and they work flawlessly. They were easily modified to only hold 9-10 rounds.

I am looking at long term storage for 30rd rebuild kits. I wonder if aluminum or plastic bodies would be a better choice? I suppose steel bodies are heavier also. Above all, reliability must be superb. Here's a couple of other options that I have found:

https://www.exilemachine.net/shop/magpul-pmag-223rem-w-window-30rd-od-891.html

A bit more expensive, but I wonder if they are more reliable and storeable.

Building my first AR and need something to feed it with. Got a couple 20/10s at the Paso gun show this weekend for range use. My last experience with a black rifle was when I was in the Army over 20 years ago, so I kinda like the familiar feel and durability of the steel mags.

**Edit**

These (https://www.exilemachine.net/shop/magblock-magazine-block-10-30-pmag-287.html) have to be made permenant somehow to be legal, correct?

Let us know if CDNN will disassemble mags and ship to Kalifornia. I had always assumed they don't.

As far as the mags themselves, they seem to get mixed reviews, some love them some don't. They are steel unlike the standard GI magazine which may be a selling point to you. At this price though they might be worth checking out. When they originally came out, they were asking $40+ for them.

CDNN usually wont. Check copes, they usually have pretty good deals on stuff.

there is some debate on that, even the legal experts can't come to a final decision.

The way I see it, it does not.

I would try 44mag.com for mags.CDNN will not ship to CA.They will not take mags apart.
