Does Magpul make mbus sights for sitting on the gas block? Your sight picture might be off, for example: your front sight is sitting lower than your rear sight. And that plastic front sight might have problems after shooting.

I was wondering about that to...... Hope the heat will not cause any problems. My plan in a few weeks is to get a Midwest Ind. rail hand guard.

Yeah, you'll want to install that front sight onto the new handguard that you get, otherwise you may want to do a search for "gas block front sights" if you want to keep a front sight on that little block there, because they have to be just a little taller. Either way, good luck, I hope you enjoy your new rifle.

About the height issue I don't think it will cause much problem because the block is like a mm or two shorter than the upper receiver. Its very little difference. Here is a like to a side shot of the upper. http://www.adamsarms.net/details.asp?sku=UA-16-M-B-556

My main concern is the heat how bad is it going to be since all gases escape at the front there and also they run through the gas block. I guess I just have to give it a test run :)

nice...did you get that midlength from the blackfriday midway sale too? haha i just built mine based on that and i love it had zero problems.

i went with a fixed metal front iron sight so i can't comment on any heat problems with plastic sights on the gas block.

good luck though, have fun shooting it

Ya I got that midwayusa sale but not the black Friday one. I still got a nice deal at 564.00 shipped :)

Well I am going to get a new hand guard for it so that front sight is not going to be there for long......

Looking good, how do you like the rail? Is it heavy/wide?

Ya I really like the "Tango Wacker" :D

As for feel its perfect way better than the old plastic version. Weight issues is not much. I weighed the rifle and it came in a 7.12 and now its 7.14 with the new rail. As for how wide it is its not bad at all. I would have to say its perfect. This rail is one of the models that fits the Adams Arms piston uppers like mine. A upper like mine is about 1k but I got my upper for 564 shipped to my door and 211.00 for the rail and two strips of plastic rail guards.
