Attn: FN Scar 17s owners,
I'm a new owner of a Scar 17s. I'd like to be able to use the actual folding stock. What extended flash hider/ muzzle brake are you guys using to get the folded overall length to 30"?

Will the Advanced Armament Co (AAC) Blackout Flash Hider 51-Tooth SCAR-H SD MITER Suppressor Mount bring the folded overall length to 30"?

Thanks.

I dont have a ruler or tape on me, but I can tell you the AAC does not add enough to do it.

While the AAC is larger than the PWS mb that comes stock on a SCAR, keep in mind it actually shrouds a good portion of your barrel. It actually makes the barrel look much shorter, which is one of things I like a lot about it

On a related note, VLTOR announced that the M4 style stock adapter is coming out soon. I might purchase one to make a "fixed stock" and go featureless, you know.. so I can use all my pre-bans hi caps I gave myself with my time machine (j/k... dont do this unless you actually own a CA-DOJ approved time machine)

Every time I look at mine I wish I could fold it...
I just crease paper instead. Seems to cure the itch...but i'm curious about the answer.

I found my mags right next to the time machine at the local range...

BUT on your related note...I'm running out of reasons to keep the stock in it's current configuration considering I cant fold it. VLTOR FTW?

I took the action apart on mine and re-assembled the rifle without it (to make sure black helicopters dont land on my roof) and took the block of the folding latch.

Its no big deal really. If I was regularly deploying out of APCs or Helicopters with mine, then I suppose I would want it to save space, but my local mall has a strict ban on HALO jumping into the parking lot so there is no point for me.

Firing this thing with the stock folded would def constitute an emergency only type scenario though..
Give ammo prices and me being broke, I dont even really mind only having 10rd mags,
not being able to use the ambi mag release bugs me more than anything.

MITER won't give you extra length, sorry. You'd have to go with the fake suppressor route.

you know, this got me thinking:

what if we could get a fake can that uses the same mounting system as the AAC miter?

I like that idea.

I'll talk to my buddy with machining gear.

"This could be a game changer that opens a whole new market!"

If you are looking for mags.Check out Fn Forum. There is one guy selling factory 10 round mags for $40 each. Also DSA arms is making there own 10 round mags for the SCAR17.Also,There is one guy in Texas that will ship 20 round mags to CA.Lanbo Armory. Also Stryker Interprises makes a new cocking handle that is angled downward ,to not interfere with a scope mount.I put the Midwest rail extension on mine.

If you get it rebarreled with a 20" + muzzle break you should have the extra length you need.

That is what I did with my FS2000. I had the stock barrel replaced with a SS 20" 1/9 twist to get the OAL over 30".

Labor and parts was about $600. Not the cheapest solution, but the extra barrel length is functional.
