View Full Version : My New Baby

The day has finally come, I'm a father. The state of California would lead you to believe that she is a spawn of Satan with the sole purpose of murdering babies :reddevil:, but I think she's a beautiful piece of art with endless functionality.

In all her glory

laser etching on the upper and naked lower :TFH:

Palmetto chrome-lined 1:7 in 5.56

Vortex Sparc (lowest setting, it gets plenty bright)

Upper: Palmetto State Armory
Barrel: PSA 16" CL 5.56 1:7 mid-length gas
Lower: Tactical Machines 80% (Roccobro group buy = AWESOME) with PSA LPK, Bullet-Button Convertible from GoldenStateTactical
Stock: MagPul MOE
Magazine: D&H Industries PSA stamped 10 rounders (plus PMags when I'm in Constitution loving states)
Use: Ranch gun, steel pockmarking, paper hole punch
Grip: MagPul MOE, forward MagPul MVG
Optics: Vortex Sparc
Sights: F-marked front, MagPul MBUIS rear
Sling: ASAP plate
CLP: Frog Lube

Range Report:

She's had 400 rounds downrange this week and she's shooting right at 2 MOA with 55gr bulk ammo (200 rds Federal 200 rds PMC). I'd love to feed her some heavier rounds to see if the groups tighten up with her intended munition but 2 MOA is very functional. The 200 and 300 yd 6" plates can verify that.

No feeding, firing or extraction issues with the PSA hardware.

Very nice.

I have the Vortex Sparc and an Aimpoint...can't wait for my AR to get out of jail to try them both out on it.

She's beautiful

nice rifle, I just built one that looks almost identical. Only difference is the red dot and the handguard. FWIW the heavier bullets shoot really well in my 1x7 JSE chrome lined upper

awesome! congrats

Congrats on becoming a father!! :D

The rifle looks great, and I'm really interested in finding out what you think of that optic after taking it to the range. I am in the market for something similar for my AR pistol build.

I thought forward vertical grips aren't allowed in CA?

I thought forward vertical grips aren't allowed in CA?

Yes they are if the rifle is not a pistol but check into that cause they change the laws all the time around here (Kali not calguns). ;)

Now as for the weapon it looks AWESOME, sir and I was about to do that same exact set-up last night but changed my mind (AGAIN) when I saw my weapon with the Magpul handguard. For some reason it does not look good only on MY rifle. Either way, man that a snazzy lookin setup for you and the SPARC is a nice little optic. I also have one and they hold pretty well on the range. :D

Those are the kinds of babies I want. No child support and they will eat all the lead you feed it and keep on going!
