View Full Version : Where to buy a Mini-14 online (or in greater LA area)?

All the local stores I've checked are selling Mini-14's for around $850 new. Online they're around $600 (CDNN is $589).

I'd love to find an online store that ships CA legal guns (like the Mini 14) to to CA. Seems like they'd make a killing.

Any advice?

Is new your only option and what model are you looking for? Some in the for sale section and even I've been thinking about getting rid of mine.

When turners has them on sale they put (at least the wood and blued version) them out for $699 or so. I would keep an eye on the turners sale ad's (they release new ones each thursday) . As far as online I have not used any personally so I couldn't recommend any with personal knowledge of their services.

It is so hard to hurt or injure a Mini 14. I'd buy used and spend the left over money in your budget on ammo.

There are some used ones in the for sale section, I would buy one of those.

When I was looking for a Mini-14 a while back the best price I found was Turners. The trick is to wail until they go on sale. They have a weekly sale flyer on their website, and it gets updated every Thursday. When they do go on sale they often only have a few guns per store, so go there on the first day of the sale.

You can also check out their "discontinued guns" list on the website, they sometimes have sale Mini-14s on there.

The prices online are lower, but don't forget about shipping and what your local FFL is going to charge you. Some stores will charge up to $100 to accept and do the paperwork on a gun you buy online. Find a good local FFL before you buy online.

I'm probably just going to bite the bullet and pay around $800 to buy it from a local place. I don't mind used, but I really want a synthetic stock and the newest model (with heavier barrel, ghost ring sites, etc).

Thanks for the advice.

If you can wait a bit Big5 usually runs the Mini on sale every few weeks. Last sale right before Thaksgiving they had the SS/Synthetic stock model for $759.00 and Blued/Wooden stock model for $699.99.

Seems to be in their normal sales rotation like the Mossberg shotgun combos.

I just bought a traditional stock tactical (sans fh) for 664 shipped to my ffl from gunforall. Give them a call, Clinton will take care of you. They're in AZ

I agree with this. There are some great deals that pop up every now and then, if you don't mind used guns.

Big5 for sure. You dont always have to wait for them to go on sale. Most of the time you can ask the manager if you can get the sale price even though it is not currently on sale. It has worked for me twice and for my Dad twice. Never hurts to ask!

Go to galleryofguns.com, and search for FFL's. Theres a pair of guys in I think Rancho Cucamonga that do it for $35.
