If I have your standard Romanian or Polish AK47. Can I remove the front iron sight and put it back further towards the handguard and not have it affect the performance of sights? And can I find a fake suppressor/heat shield that will slide over the barrel (not attached to it, the darn thing doesn't need to be longer!)?

Where can I find that fake suppressor/heat shield?

Thanks.

Yes you can. Either cut up and weld the front sight to the gas block, or move the entire front sight base further back on the barrel. If cutting it up, make sure to stay as close to the original height as possible, however the front sight post is adjustable for both height and windage. Another option is to remove both the front sight base and gas block, and replace it with a gas block/sight combo. If you are moving the sight base back, be aware that the barrel's outer diameter will have to be reduced to within spec to push the sight any further back.

Hmmmm I may have to try this on a future build, nicoroshi has done this on a couple krink clones and they look bad@ss!

Can you also suggest some after market iron sights that would work with this configuration?
