I've got a Fab10 lower and I have no idea what to do with it. I've thought of doing another caliber, but the mag that it fixed in the lower is for .223. Anybody have any cool ideas? I don't need another .223
Single shot maybe? Or anchor?

Would it be legal to dremel out the magwell cover?

.416 Barrett upper (http://www.tactilite.com/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=70&category_id=29&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=29) :43:

$20 bucks seems to be about what they are worth.

I've thought about opening it up, but there is a lot of milling that would need to be done for the mag release and other stuff.

That .416 Barrett Would be a kick in the pants for sure. Just a little outta my price range though.

Thanks! and Keep the ideas coming, I need to do something with the thing.

What about AR57 5.7x28mm upper (http://www.botachtactical.com/pwa57x28upper.html) / P90 mags? (http://www.calegalmags.com/P90-PS90-57x28_c_85.html)

No bueno. It ejects through the mag well.

:(, sorry wasn't aware of that, nice to know it works like a P90 though.

I have a fab10 as well and I too am considering uses for it.
I am leaning toward one of these but they're hard to find.

While I am not in love with the idea of drilling out the magwell to accommodate the AR57 upper, at least it would be easier than trying to do that and drill the mag catch to make it fully functional.

No bueno. It ejects through the mag well.

A quick trip through the milling machine can fix that. I suppose considering that this is a Fab10, no one would blame you if you took the  Dremel to it.

Dremel out the lower and put a 57 on it. .510 DTC upper for it too.

Throw it in the back of the safe and wait for a rainy day.

I registered mine as a .50 BMG, and now it sits disassembled in the back of the safe doing nothing with its life.

I have a few and I like them. Specially my registered 50BMG rifle that I shoot competitively. Anyway, they are not worth getting rid of. They are not worth the trouble of modifying. So, like 10% suggested, just stash it in back of the safe. Someday you might find a good use for it.

Use it for a TAC-15 crossbow
.

I LOVE this idea! Only problem is the lower is still classified as a firearm and still subject to laws a dedicated crossbow isn't.

Seems like a single shot is the way to go. The 5.7 would work also I guess since the bottom is just for ejection purposes. Correct? Although the cross bow idea is kinds cool. It's been sitting in the back of the safe for years. Just getting tired of seeing it. Thanks for all the ideas.

True they eject thru the mag well but he could always open it up and not have to worry about the magazine release milling issues.

If your interested in an AR57 Please feel free to PM me. Located in San Diego.

Yeah just hold on to it.
It will be a relic of the golden age of the struggle for 2A rights in Ca.

In the years to come when the younger ones inquire and laugh about bullet buttons and fin grips, you can pull it out and say, "if you think that was bad..."

I have access to a mill so I am going to open magwell and put mag release in. Probably couple hours. Otherwise strip it for parts and use as club to kill pests.

The older FAB10s do not have enough metal to install a bolt catch/release. So, check and make sure your's does before you start cutting it.
