Tundah from Hawaii here. Though I'm not from California I've spent so much time there I feel like it's my back yard, and even though you're 2,400 miles away you're still the closest state. I spent four years in San Diego back in the 70's, :oji: and I had an Auntie with a beach house in Malibu. You guys have my sympathies about your gun laws as you are one of the few places with gun laws worse than Hawaii.

I'm mostly into black guns, esp. AK's & FAL's

I see you have a pretty active marketplace so I hope to be mining it for some deals, especially on optics.

Howzit Tundah! I'm in California but am a local born Hawaiian Boy, High school grad from Maui High and UH Manoa Alumni.

My wife's cousin had to go to the police station to get permits, but other than that...you guys don't have the silly handgun list or need to bullet-button your black rifles right? I didn't get into guns until after moving to Cali. :(

Oh and LTC is pretty much impossible to get?

Aloha! Yeah I recently heard from a friend who moved there many years ago. He's looking to build his first AR. So as long as its rifle caliber he says there are no restrictions.
Welcome! Is there a Hawaiian version of Calguns there?

Depends on who you ask. There are some anal-retentive sorts around here that choose to interpret the law so that if there is a pistol version of your rifle (which there invariably is), you cannot own or possess mags over 10 rounds, despite the fact that those sorts of pistols are illegal in Hawaii anyway. Still, high cap rifle mags are sold in every gun shop on the Islands. When I go to the range I only take 10 round mags, just in case there is someone around who wants to make it an issue.

Thanks. We have 2ahawaii.com

Welcome!

I came here the same way as your son, I married one local girl and stayed. Now my (oldest) son's in the Army and on the mainland... some kind of weird symmetry there.

Tundah, welcome to Calguns!

My dad (RIP) was born on Oahu. Daughter at UH Manoa. She is saving up to buy me a nice off-list handgun for my birthday! Can you say, "intrafamilial transfer?"
