have anyone own this rifle from Turners? I want to hear your opinions.

Thinking of buying this rifle for fun plinking, able to hit a man-size target at 100 yards.

does new manufactured mean new batch from CIA? so their quality should be better than past wasr10.

EDIT: single stacks are $429 and double stacks are $499 when on sales; beside the $70 price more for double stacks, is there any quality improvement? Double stack or single stack, I still have to use a 10 rounds mag.

UPDATE: bought the single stack AK from san marcos Turners, now waiting 10 days to till pick up.

I'd go for the double-stack version but otherwise there's lots of folks who love their WASRs

I opted for the double stacked magazine from last weeks sale for $499.00, i pick it up tomorrow, my first venture into the ak world. Read everything i could about them before i bought it. As far as i could tell the front sight and gas block cant was negligible but the front sight post was set all the way to the left. It has a muzzle break, a little magazine wobble. The wood furniture, I read somewhere described as old refurbished pallet wood, i would have to agree. It is gnarly and ratty! I figure i can either stain it or just strap it to my back for two or three weeks so all the oils from my hands and back and forehead will eventually seep into the wood and make it look decent. There are other threads on here recently about them, it was actually what got me to go in and look.

There was just a thread like 2 weeks ago about this same topic
"AK 47 at Turners worth $$$?"

Yes. WASR's are good rifle iv had mine since like 2007 no issues at all
Mines a double stack. If you have a dremel you can make quick work of a single stack and make it a double. That's all CAI does to them anyways they have to bring them in single stack.

I bought my WASR 10/63 single stack from Turners last July for $389.98, it sure did went up $40.00 since then.

I'm debating on getting one to scratch a growing AK itch. I kind of like the idea of the single stack mag, but after doing some research I found that they're actually more expensive.

Any of the single stacks can be easily converted to double stack. Read this thread that someone posted above, it has TONS of info.

I agree about opening it but what if this guy can't even use lincoln logs.

Can't assume everyone can use a dremel. He could open it up to much and have a wobbly stack.

I dont have a problem open it with the dremel, just asking about if there's any different in quality/accuracy of the rifle. thanks for the reply :)

I love my WASR. I chose the double stack that they had and judging how it functions, the single stacks should be gtg as well.

Wasr's are great rifles! 12,000 rounds thru mine and its still going like a beast and the finish has held up great on it!

Can't go wrong with the Romanian, might have a canted sight or wobbly mag but just take your pick from the litter and pick a good one.

It's the exact same rifle. The only difference is Century has already done the work of opening up the magwell and making it 922r compliant for you.

The WASR 10/63 single stack magazine configuration from Turners is already 922r compliant.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought that the OP specifically asked for opinions on WASRs from Turners. Geez...

Not a bad price, I wouldn't dissuade someone from buying one. I had a WASR and it was decent enough. To be honest, though, I much preferred my Saiga. I liked the ergos, it shot well, felt much better-made and had no trigger slap unlike the WASR. Oh, did I mention no bullet button and ability to use your pre-bans (keeping 922R in mind, of course)? It's really one of the better values out there. And you can do the conversion if you want "real AK" looks. Though as I stated, I much prefer the ergos of the Saiga with its longer LOP...

If you get one and decide to upgrade the furniture, Matt at Ironwooddesigns.com does excellent work (though you may wait a few weeks, it's all made-to-order). I bought a set for my Saiga conversion. They come unfinished so you can stain them however you like.
