View Full Version : Which Tech Sights do you prefer?

I'm planning to get some Tech Sights for my 10/22 and I'm wondering what you guys think about TSR100 vs TSR200. Is the TSR200 worth the extra $10? Is it even very helpful to have the elevation adjustable aperture and taller front sight post?

The 100's work firn for me. I like things KISS.

I've seen a couple of people who don't like adjusting the front post for whatever reason, including apparently it can get a bit wobbly at the top of its range. They feel it's more secure if you just tighten the front one down most/all of the way and use the rear adjustments. There's one guy on some of the forums I'm on who will go into this rant about his front sight falling off but as far as I can tell it's just him. :-)

In any case, I got the cheap ones and haven't had any trouble with them, but if any of the above sounds like a concern the $10 is cheap insurance.

I have had both. I like the 100's better. the 200's are kind of a PITA to adjust.

100s and I had both. I like the No Dak Spud rears better (have 2 now)

I like the 100s with the extended sight post. Without the extended post the front sight would top out adjustment wise and be wobbly.

I've got the 100's on my 10/22 and the 200's on my 795. They both work fine. I do like the peep on the 100 better, but having all your adjustments on one end is nice too. I just need to blacken the peep more.

Also has anyone replaced the post with a KNS Precision cross hair post? I did it on my AR and like it better but I seem to shoot great with the post on the .22's.

I put the 200 on my 10/22 and wish I had gone with the 100.

At least in my case (a 10/22 with the tapered carbine bbl), the extra height caused by the piece on the rear sight that allows for elevation adjustment means that I have to adjust the rear all the way down and the front all the way up to get correct alignment, and this leaves the front sight too high and rather wobbly.

I think I may try replacing the rear with the NDS version.
