By the time you get it to California with the DROS and shipping, it will be more than a $100.00

So might as well get a stripped lower from your LGS.

$30.00 for lower
$25.00 for Transfer (my guys is cheap)
$50 for tax and DROS
XX for shipping....

I dunno. on the surface it looks like a great deal...but I'd wait for the $49.99 PSA deal.

Must be blowing out the last of those since Territorial Gunsmiths is/has closed up shop. During the great Obama rush of 2008/2009 these were some of the only lowers we could actually get into stock, but back then they cost WAY more than $30. I imagine G&R is taking a loss on these, but they are actually great lowers if you can live with the tomahawk ;)

Won't the $50 dollar dros/tax fee exist anywhere, even a LGS... so by your numbers its a $55 dollar lower plus a standard dros and tax of $50, plus a shipping fee of, who knows, $20? so $105 plus $20. whats a gun shop lower go for out the door? might still be a deal, just not as much of a deal as it seems.

Yeah $30 is below the cost to actually manufacture them. Heck that is a loss even just machine time alone, never-mind the forging, anodizing, inspection, shipping, and all the other costs.

If you are buying a firearm from the stock of a local gun store there is no transfer fee. You will have to pay the $25 DROS fee for any firearm, bought as a transfer or from local inventory. Let's assume your dealer charges $50 for transfer fee and let's also assume they do not charge tax on transfers (although many do and most will be doing so soon to comply with a recent BOE letter sent to all FFL's).

Lower: $30
Shipping: $7
Transfer: $50
DROS: $25
Total OTD: $112
If the dealers collects tax on transfers, add a couple more bucks.

An example at RifleGear
Lower: $79
Tax: $6.12
DROS: $25
Total OTD: $110.12

It's a good deal if your LGS does not have lowers under $100 or if you have a cheap transfer dealer.

At that price, where you really save money is ordering in bulk. That way you spread the shipping/transfer/DROS fees.

Would be under $100 through my dealer total..... But yeah I suppose the deal isn't as good elsewhere
