Any FH or compensator on market can extend 14" barrel to 16.1"? Thanks.

I am assuming you mean for the AR-15.

No one really makes a 14" barrel. They do make 14.5" and with that no not all flash hiders make it 16.1". I.E. the A2 flash hider will not make a 14.5" to 16.1". You would need an extended one.

Now some people make a 14.7" barrel and that "should" be able to allow a standard A2 flash hider to make the barrel 16.1".

Really you need to measure the barrel before you pin and weld it. You do this by having the bolt forward put a dowel into the barrel until it hits the bolt. Mark the dowel, remove the dowel. Then measure from the mark to the end of the dowel. The is how it is measured.

The answer is yes, but not all. Battlecomp 1.5, surefire, etc. Permanently attached to a 14.5" barrel.

Bravo Company USA sells one. That is affordable and it is pre-drilled and includes the blind pin for permanent pinning.

More of a statement than a question.

A statement with a question mark. Now I cant even focus on the thread.....

What is the thread pattern?

the KX3 (pig) can bring a 13.7" barrel up to 16.1". So can the BA Battlecomp, but it's patterned in 5/8 x 24 RH.

The KX3 is available in both 1/2 x 28 RH and 5/8 x 24 RH.

There are quite a few more than will bring a 14.5" barrel up to 16.1", with YHM being some of the least expensive.

This ^^.

I'm unsure if anyone's been popped for SBR charges over this (A2 FH + 14.5") but it'd be a real idiot crappy thing to be popped for...

yep, hence the saying: measure twice, pin once, go to jail never ;)

Possible threadjack: I've seen quite a few sites with an extended A2 flash hider that supposedly bring the barrel length up to 16.1". Here's a tough one: I need an AR flash hider that measures between 2 1/2" and 3". All I can find are 5.5" or the 1.5". It's for my Galil build, with the long barrel and stock flash hider I'm about 1/2" short of being able to keep my folding stock. Any one able to help? Most of the hiders I'm seeing online don't list how much they extend overall length. Hoping someone has an aftermarket flash hider and knows how much it adds to OAL.

Maybe you can have that 5.5" cut down re-threaded to the length you need.

I put a vortex on mine

How much length did the Vortex add? My plan B is to do as seainc suggests. I have a lathe, cutting it down is not a problem. I would just rather buy one finished if possible. Maybe I'll make a slipover fake suppressor....

An xm177 style FH is usually between 4.5-5.5" depending on the manufacturer.

The rifle is looking pretty long as it is, barrel is for a Galil AR (19" I believe) with a short SAR gas tube. I just don't want to throw an extra 5" on when I need half that. Maybe cut out a few inches and reweld the thing....
