Hi I'm looking for a comp to reduce recoil on my Ak. I hate shooting it because for some reason the stock jumps up and slaps my cheek everytime I shot it.

Any suggestion or links would help.

Thanks
Richard.

If I could remember correctly, it's a Romy g build.

Any brake would decrease recoil, like the ak74 clone brake. I have the solar tactical f.a.s.t brake and it seems to work well. So depends on your budget, the ak74 clone is like $15-20 bucks, while other ones can be more expensive.

Ive been using just a basic AK 74 style brake. Does the job, very noticeable difference in recoil.

I have the K-var Ak74 style brake and love it.

Altough that requires the 74 sight base right?

There are some that are direct barrel thread style. Not sure if Kvar does them.

Its called cheek weld, the stock can't jump up and slap your cheek if you cheek is already against the stock. If you can't use the sight with a cheek weld, then raise the butt up higher on your shoulder so that the butt barely even touches your shoulder. The AK has barely any recoil, so it must be your shooting technique. I don't have a break on mine and barely notice any felt recoil.

I agree with these dudes, although if you don't wanna spend all the dough on an FSC-47, I'd go with a 74 style muzzle brake, it reduces recoil and decreases muzzle flash.

The 74 style brake is good, but lacks the real expansion chamber of the 24mm 74 style brakes.
The AMD-65 brake is quite good too, if not better than the 74 style (but LOUD, especially to those on your left and right side).

Either of these are cheap and plentiful. $10 - $20.

Ya for 20ish bucks the tapco AK-74 style brake is great. Install is like 15 seconds since you don't need to fiddle with washers or wrenches

There is a .22LR AK I think that would solve all recoil problems.
