I though you were doing pretty good until I saw the ACOG purchase :)

It could have been worse for me, I was eyeing the NF 1-4 package that LaRue has.....

Haha. I've done that. Went to pick up a receiver I already paid for after my 10 were up and ended up walking out with a $1300 DD M4V7. Felt sick that day too.

I know the feeling OP. I'm pouring money into my current AR build and I'm already thinking about building a SPR in an AR platform :(

By the way, I just placed an order for a Troy MRF-CX rail and another order for a Magpul CTR stock right after I got home from work if any of that makes you feel better.

Last month I actually held off buying parts for my next AR build. I knew that I would have felt sick if I bought everything, because I had just bought a new Mossberg and other stuff that I really didn't need. However, a couple weeks later I checked the website that had the barrel I was going to buy, and the cost had almost doubled ! So, I ended up feeling sick because I didn't buy it when it was cheap :banghead:. Hopefully they will have the sale again when I'm finally ready to buy!

So, without sounding too cliche, damned if you don't and damned if you do.

bought a GSG 522PK despite the crappy bullet just because of the holiday buying spirit, and about to drop another couple hundred on a GSG 5-SD

Too many times I purchase things then feel sick afterwards when I think of how much money I spent, but then that all goes away once you finally get to use it.

Sick? No... I've gotten really good at selling stuff I don't need/want anymore to get stuff I don't need/do want. I just managed to spend a total of $60 to change the entire front end on one of my rifles. Good times!

As for me, I'm trying to be good this holiday season, last Thanksgiving to X-Mas I re-did 2 ARs at the same time (basically built 2 new ones really). I bought a bunch of shooting supplies too. I tried to justify everything by selling off a bunch of old stuff, but I new I was spending out of control.

Actually, I'm pretty stable on these kind of things. I'm kind of an obsessive compulsive shopper, so I already have my purchases planned out 6-8 weeks in advance, and already know the price spread. That means if a truly good deal comes up, it's usually just a matter of rearranging purchase order.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to order a VLTOR Modpod, a Blackholeweaponry 18" LR308 barrel, and some Peltor earmuffs. :)

Trying to pass your horse off as a dog again?

I dont mind having a big dog.. but its the high energy dog that kills me... I take one of my pit on a bike ride twice a day and she has to pull me for 3 to 5 milesjust so she wont be so destructive. Even then she find ways. To chew and eat whatever she gets a hold in the house.

I think of it like this, as long as you and your family are eating and you aren't spending money on guns instead of bills, what the heck. The nice thing about guns is that they generally hold their resale value so if times get hard, you can get most of your money back.
