I presently don't own a rifle at all, I am interested in an OLL after seeing the Monsterman Grip. I would appreciate advice on a basic rifle.I would like to build an OLL for paper punching and the occasional tactical match, I would like a basic rifle that I can add to as I learn and the approximately how much is this going to cost.
What are the essentials that would cost a lot more to add later.
I would like to start with iron sights, that I could adapt to optics later, I'll need them.
I think I would like a flat top.
From what I've read a chrome plated barrel and chamber are desirable.
Thats all the questions I can think of, I'm sure I've missed a lot.
Thanks very much for your help.
Bill

Click here for your upper (http://www.tenpercentfirearms.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=16_20&products_id=5)

Here is your parts kit (http://www.tenpercentfirearms.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=8&products_id=126)

You will need one of these to stay legal (http://www.tenpercentfirearms.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=4&products_id=80)

Oh and one of these (http://www.tenpercentfirearms.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=3&products_id=82)

Am I missing something besides a lower,mm grip and mag?

do you really need the muzzle brake to stay legal?

You could run with a flash hider if and only if you have a fixed magazine.

Otherwise you can't have a flash hider; any non-flash hider/non-grenade launcher device would be a legal muzzle attachment on a no-evil-features MonsterMan or U15-equipped rifle - including a bare crowned barrel, or a threaded bbl with thread protector.

Or a fake silencer which is basically a fancy thread protector.

I would get the mag lock instead of the grip. Just my opinion.:D

What Upper and Rail system are you using there?

+1

I like the Bullet Button myself - then you can have any stock, any pistol grip, any muzzle device. The only limitation is you have to stick a bullet tip into the magazine button to change your 10 round mags.

The Stag Arms 2H flat top is a pretty good upper for the price

Well, I dont know about you, but when I started building my AR, I decided that I did not want to be confined to one use for it, so I built it as a sort of 'jack-of-all-trades' rifle. I went with a CMMG 20" med con upper, detach carry handle, standard trigger (though I think I will be upgrading it eventually), and an A2 buttstock.

It's a Bushmaster M4 upper with ARMS rear and MI flip up front sight. that I bought from a guy on Gunscal before it was shut down. The rail is a YHM Spector length light weight rail.
