Make: Arsenal

Model: SGL-23 (It's basically the SLG-21 with Arsenal's proprietary Mag release, video link below).

Caliber: 7.62x39mm

Location (city or county): San Jose

Price:

Will ship (Y/N): Nope

Other info: I'm going to address some of the messages I have received from the past week or so.

1.) Does the rifle have any imperfections like canted sights, FTF, etc.:
No, in fact of all the guns I have owned in the past, this is one of two that came perfect with no adjustment needed (the other being the Beretta 92FS made in Italy). The sights were straight on (tested from 25 yards to 100 yards), no failure to feed (the only ammo brand I have ever put through this gun is the Silver Bear). The rifle was bought 4 months ago in August, with 300 rounds through.

2.) How about just for the OEM parts? I don't care for the Tapco parts, etc.
Something to consider on this matter. The Arsenal stock that came from the manufacturer is a Warsaw pact length stock, which fits a short guy like me just fine. I am 5'7, so that can be your reference.

3.) Question on the red dot mount.
Between the adjustment and review videos below, it should answer your questions, but this is my setup. I have adjusted the mount so the Aimpoint is bore aligned, then sighted the Aimpoint at 50 yards for the least amount of bullet drop variation. Having a 2 MOA dot on the ML3, there is only about an inch difference on paper at any given distance from 25 to 100 yards.

Since this mount give the ability to co-witness, I set the rear leaf sight to "battle" settings, giving me perfect point of aim at 25 yards. This means as I look through the scope I have two sights both of which is perfect point of aim for the distance they were sighted for (25 for the iron sights, and 50 for the red dot). Furthermore, the battle setting of the iron sight is good to hit a man size target out to 300meters as long as one is aiming for center mass. For quick adjustment purposes, I can adjust the leaf sight to whatever distance I want. That is why if I am going for 100 yards, I can simply move the rear sight to 100m for a perfect point of aim. All this of course does not require any tools, as the AK was designed this way.

And again, you can field strip and clean without the need to remove the scope and mount.

4.) $$$$$
Brand new the SGL-21, a high quality Russian made AK, even from Budsgunshop and cheap transfer service, around this area that is about $850 out the door. The Aimpoint ML3 and Mount bundle cost about $650 not including shipping.

5.) The type of mag release it has.
I think this video should answer and demonstrate the mag release questions.

The "package" I am offering is so that someone who does not own a rifle will have the basics taken care of to shoot/maintain/store this guy. For those who are in the camp of self-defense, I am a fan of being able to see what I am going to SHOOT at. Hence the light, but also the strobe function which will allow you to see while blinding your target. Strobe with a high enough brightness functions similarly to getting Taserd (not a constant stream but shocks in pulses). Try as you might, you will not be able to adapt to super bright flashing light, especially under distress.

Happy shooting everyone!
