I finally have my savage 10fp done (not broken in or zeroed yet) and I thought maybe some of you guys would like to get together and maybe meet up at a local range like Burro Canyon or Lyttle Creek for a shoot...

I know at Burro you can rent out a tac range for $15 a person minimum 4 people which would probably be our best bet...What do you guys think?

Correct me if I am wrong - but aren't the private ranges only about 75 yards?

Sure. Let me know when. I can always use more practice. Usually, Saturday mornings are best for me, though I normally go to Angeles.

proraptor,

I shot down at Lytle Creek about a month ago with the tactical guys. I think they meet up on the second Sunday of every month. Check out http://www.wegc.org/ for details/calendar. They're a really good group of guys.

Get off the 210 at Osborne st. and go north a few miles to get to Angeles Range.

i would have to say they are much better than burro canyon. but, that's just my opinion...and, it has more to do with the people that frequent the establishments over the facilities.

Is Burro Canyon still a shack with some wood frames for you lean on?
I haven't been there for a while.
I remembered they called cease fire, I went to my car and came back looking at a guy working on this rifle while others are putting up their targets.

Angeles is at
12651 Little Tujunga Canyon
Lake View Terrace, CA 91342

Go to their web site and print out a $2 off coupon.

2nd Sunday of the Month @ West End Gun Club there is a 'tactical' match. Shooting starts at 0800 and ends at around 1300. Many of the guys that shoot this event are on The Sniper's Hide forum.

I've never shot the 'tactical' format matches at West End. I've fired the 600 yard prone match there when they used to have it and currently the High Power Across the Course match.

Here is a link to the photos of the January match (http://www.snipershide.net/forum/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Board=6&Number=32048&Searchpage=3&Main=1944&topic=0).

Pick a date, time and place and maybe everyone can check-in. FYI, one reason I prefer Angeles is that I can shoot paper to 200 and steel targets out to 600 yards.

Naw, they've done alot of work up there. They moved the line 100yds back, poured a slab and built a cover. They also started to dig some pits (only for the far left benches though).

As for all that other crap, yeah, its the wild west up there sometimes.
