Anyone have any experience with a decent meat grinder that can handle brittle bones such as chicken and rabbit?
I was thinking something like this http://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_200452381_200452381

Its 5/8hp, not sure if it is enough. I used my wifes Kitchen Aid but it worked it real hard.

edit: purpose for bones if for dog food

I usually debone before I grind. I really wouldn't want bone in my ground meat. That said, I don't grind poultry.

I should have specified a little bit more, I grind up the scraps for dogfood.

I raise meat rabbits with my dad, we have 2 bucks and 6 doe. When we dispatch and butcher, I end up with a lot of scraps because I debone everything besides the front leg and drumstick.
I have ground the scraps before through a Kitchen Aid and it took the bones, ribs, vertebra, etc. Rabbit bones are very brittle.

That's a bit more than I need, I'm looking for opinions on something between the $300-500 range.

When my dog was on the raw meaty bones diet I was told to just give them the bones whole and let him grind them up with his teeth. Granted, that was usually beef, pork or goat though, I never gave him chicken or rabbit.
