I am interested in a revolver type rifle (new production). Is there anything like it? I am not looking for a cowboy type rifle.

Is it illegal to take something like a Smith & Wesson 629 and add a custom made 18 inch barrel and make a custom buttstock for it, attached in place of the stocks (grips)? If proper barrel length and overall length, it wouldn't be an SBR. Why not try it?

But I doubt anyone makes a revolver type rifle using a modern revolver design. the only ones I've seen have been Remington 1858 based or other cowboy action guns. I think anyone making one out of modern handgun outside of CA would probably start with a handgun first, and getting it into CA would be a problem if not on the DOJ list.

It's not illigal to make a pistol into a rifle, I've seen a few oddball customs that did it before.

It would be expensive, very expensive.
