Hey guys. I'm looking on picking up a small bore comp rifle for shooting NRA matches with. I'm looking for an entry level rifle with peep sights. Can anyone drop a few names or models of rifles to check out? Thanks

Google Creedmore Sports as a start.

Look for a used Anschutz (high end) or a used Remington 513T or 541. You can also get a Mil surplus "ready to go" Kimber .22 target rifle or a used H&R target rifle - less sights - from the CMP http://www.odcmp.com/Services/Rifles/caliber22.htm

You can also get new Anschutz .22 rifles from the CMP http://www.odcmp.com/Rifles/cal22commercial.htm

I'd avoid the Kimbers.... There's a reason the CMP can't get rid of them... one reason is that there are no spare parts for them and they are not a good rifle for position shooting...

I'd probably rate the H&R M12 as a "best buy" from the CMP. You'll have to scrounge up a set of sights, but those are fairly easy to get from either Champion Shooters Supply or Champion's Choice.

What's your budget?
