Did the tax credit for purchasing a gun safe ever get passed? I can find where the house and senate were looking at doing this but not sure if it was ever enacted...Anyone have any info?

If you store your tax documents in the gun safe then I believe you can write some of it if not all of it off. My tax guy said if you have a safe deposite box at a bank and store your tax document in that box then you can receive a tax credit. A gun safe should be no different. Just my .02 cents. Take it for what it is worth.

From what I could find, it looks like the bill never passed, so the specific purchase credit would not apply. Not sure though about a tax document storage credit...

Final Status: Introduced
This bill was proposed in a previous session of Congress. Sessions of Congress last two years, and at the end of each session all proposed bills and resolutions that haven't passed are cleared from the books. This bill never became law.
