Wow, I just bought a second red dot from him about a week and a half ago. Got it and it works great. His website is still there.

which red-dot sight did you buy? Those prices are pretty good if the product works. :D

I have heard only positive things about the aimpoint and acog clones that he sells. I wonder how good the Leupold Mark 4 clones work?

I have the 4 PATTERN REFLEX RED DOT SIGHT on an SU16CA and am happy with it. For the $60 I paid for it, it was well worth the money but I wouldn't agree that it is totally parallax corrected as the site says. Glad to see the sites up though.

Here's a review from his site - sounds pretty tempting! I usually buy good optics, but this would be fun to play with.

what is a good mount that he sells that will work with this scope on a flat top?

I have both the clonepoint with the arms mount and a mark 4. I am considering a second mark 4 or a facog. The mark 4 works very well. I used it last weekend and it worked flawlessly. If anyone is going to be at Angeles I will be there tomorrow around 10:30am with my clonepoint and mark 4 clone.

The only issue with the clone point is the knobs are backwards. The direction marked left is actually right. Makes mt think they are probably real aimpoints that were rejected. Just speculation though.

I don't see any mounts on his site for this - only standard rings. The scope claims to have 3.5-4.5" eye relief.

To mount a magnified scope on an AR flat top, most people are going to need to mount the eyepiece forward of the charging handle, which means the front ring will be off of the receiver. You also need to get the scope up fairly high - about the height of the standard sights.

To mount this style scope, most people use either a one-piece cantilever mount that moves the scope forward and upward, or an extended rail that gives height (usually 1/2") and forward extension, and regular rings.

Armalite, LaRue, and RRA all make one-piece mounts. The LaRue is considered the best, but it's almost $200. The Armalite's half the price.

Lots of people make extended rails, but YHM makes about the cheapest good-quality ones if you want to experiment before committing a lot of $.

I have a YHM and a full length rail. They both work great with the Mark 4 and medium height rings.
