Total is $275 when you click on the deal - 259.95 and 16 shipping but still not bad on the Remington. A similar box at Wally World per hundred is 39.95. The deal is from Oklahoma so the ability to avoid sales tax is still there - for now.

is Lake city loaded to 5.56 specs? is the 62grain steel core? I try and pay around $300 for 1k of .223 but those are good prices listed in the OP. Cabelas had a good deal on 5.56 spec 62 grain steel core a week ago or so. Is was 5.99 a box. I'd of bought some but I don't have money to spend on ammo right now. :(

From what i was told it is loaded to 5.56... and yes is steal core. The OPs price are by far much better depending upon shipping cost.

For the OP ammo link, I'm about 2 hours away from starting DROS on my first AR (the Turner's special SW MP15 sport)

I'm thinking the SGammo UMC .223 looks like a good starting batch of ammo. Any issues with this brand? Any other options I should be looking for? Any reason why I'd want to look for 5.56 over .223?
