DPMS (http://www.dpmsinc.com/store/products/?prod=866) has one. Why would you want one with out a magwell?

there is a guy who normally does 50bmg uppers but is working on a 50dtc. i think the status as of now is that he's test fired it and IT WORKED. not exactly sure when he'll be pumping them out. but it might be soon so i'm gearing up for it. I don't want to say who it is yet cuz i'm not sure if he's keeping it on the DL. I also don't want to steal his thunder. But he is a reputable 50bmg producer.

Darran Wardle of Advanced Long Range Systems (www.50bmg.net) is a .50 caliber upper manufacturer as well. He has a chambering called 50ALS. The shoulder of the .50bmg is set back a few degrees so it's shorter than a .50bmg. A .50bmg cartridge will not chamber the 50ALS.

Here is a pic with one of his uppers with the DPMS Single Shot lower.

I think that the Ferret50 and Ultramag50 uppers come in .510DTC as well. Here are the links:

I have not tried, but my understanding is that the uppers are designed to fit on a standard AR series lower, ergo the lowers should fit a standard AR series upper. I'll try tonight when I get off work.

I love my Ferret 50BMG. Didn't know I wanted a 50BMG until the PRK said I couldn't have one after 12/31/xx. So I got TWO. The Ferret and one from Bluegrass Armory.

Ammo isn't cheap but anything I can do to piss off or worry the likes of The Brady Bunch, Hillary Clinton, Barbara Boxer, Dianne Feinstein, Nancy-One-Too-Many-Face-Lifts Pelosi, etc. makes me a happy camper.

You want my guns? Please, feel free to try to take them.

DPMS single-shot lower will meet your needs. However, remember to upgrade the hammer and spring(s). The original AR-15 hammer/springs might not work properly with heavier 50 caliber bolt.:)

I thought long and hard about getting a Ferret 50 upper to place on one of my registered AW lowers, but two things made me think twice. One, replacement of the guts makes it a more dedicated to the Ferret vs just swapping it out on an AR. Two, I don't think the weight construction of the AR lowers is such a good thing with a powerful .50BMG upper (recoil and shock strength). Ferret's normally come with a heavy steel lower.

DPMS single shot lowers are not hard to find or get.......

They are a lot more beefy up front since it is solid AL....;)

You could also get a .510 DTC marked lower:

http://www.safetyharborfirearms.com/Single_Shot_Lower/single_shot_lower.html

Might help with LEO etc, to show it is not an evil 50BMG rifle.

Don't know if that marking will help or hinder. The 1934 law makes anything over .50 cal a destructive device. I know the round is only a slightly necked down case of the .50 BMG - and uses the BMG bullet - but the marking may cause issues.

I think sporting conversions makes a single shot lower. Not sure if it is suitable for this application.
