Hey guys, I don't think or even know if this will be held anywhere near Tracy. I had responded to the original poster saying that if it's realatively close to Tracy, wich is where I live, then I'd be down.

The Title of the thread mentioned Nor Cal/Stockton area, so I was just saying I would be in for the shoot. I was not implying that this will occur in or near Tracy, like some have suggested.

Sorry to cause any confusion. I'm sure 1norcalvarmintHunter will let us all know when and where this will take place.

J,

I do have written permission, and the owners of the land will likely be with us. We have shotten several reg'd aw's (hk91,hkmp5, colt ar, m1919a4, ak's, steyr aug etc...) but we do not want big 50s out there till we build up the wall for our backstop. I will confirm tomorrow on how many people at one time the owner will feel comfortable with on his property. So if it turns out only a limited number can go, I will take count of who goes and who hasnt so we can all eventually get out there.

I have a nice 800 yd set up with a shooting bench and reloading bench available too! I like to use big stell targets for the long stuff, and generally paper for grouping etc...

thanks all for the replies, i hope to get everyone out there! if not we can go on a personal basis (2 to 3 at a time) like whenever i go varminting.

Varmint round is a very rapid expanding bullet. There are several of them available. If you dont reaload or dont want to pay outrageous amounts for .223 or .204 varmint loads let me know ahead of time, i can get a good deal from a local reloader on 55 grain varmint ammo for .223 and 39 grain for .204 ruger.

Hornady a-max/vmax, speer tnt, varminator bullets, dogtown bullets etc... are all great rounds. midwayusa.com is great place for varmint stuff

I hate to police the event, but at land owners request he doesnt want any ricochets etc...

Let me recap, I will have a range set up for probably 3 shooters at a time, as well as a pistol area. this is asider from the varmint hunting areas! ON the range you may use fmj or hp, since there is a backstop! I will need everyone to send me there personal info ahead of time, phone number and full name what guns you will bring. vehicle make description and please bring proof of insurance at time of the shoot. The main owner of the land is very strict since I am bringing people i dont personally know out to the ranch. So please make it easy for me.

Also if anyone can bring some steel targerts or paper targets, maybe even a trap thrower or 2? Oh yeah we will be having radios out there to communicate so bring em if you got em'

Also there will be personal people i know at each shooting designation, so if they say you do... In other words listen or leave! OK thanks!

Also once i get everyon in for the list, its it, i will post directions and you will meet me at the gate! I will get your Info and let you through the gate and you will follow me to the designated parking area. Also i advise 4 wheel drive! if you have a car only, then bring it and park on the main road, but i will not be responsible for any body's cars or personal belongings. Remember thre will be an off duty officeer with us, so please respect all laws and my rules! thanks again

That is evil too do so!!! You think your guys are worried, I am worried about having 15 strangers with evil black ZUMBO rifles at my ranch!!!

I wish i had photos of past shoots, i would put them up.

One time we had a sheriff stop and ask " Is that a steyr aug?" So he said can i shoot it? It was funny! Any how not to worry anyone its ok... dont let BTL make you paranoid!

Jeez can't a guy have any fun????

Here is a little something showing what to expect from a video my brother and I shot last year.

David, thank you for the opportunity to get a squirrel kill, closer to home. :D

FINALLY, I can say the 40gr VMAX .223 makes 'em explode.

(was with the other group closer to the gate and got ONE squirrel ;) ).

I'm weirded out about the squirrel population. Do you think it's the poisoning they did, this year?

David,

Thanks again for being so generous to arrange this shoot. I really enjoyed meeting everyone.

Sorry that the squirrels didn't cooperate, but maybe they were still down breeding so next time, they'll be all over the place.

Ed, thanks for letting me shoot that "monster" pistol, that was great fun!
