hello all!

I just registered after reading a lot on the forum, i love all the threads and great info!

I am looking into getting a ten 4 block 21 and was wondering where in the San Francisco area would be a good place to start? also I am not too sure on this whole single shot exemption thing, i have read the thread about it but still do not understand what it means.

thanks in advance for the help

It took me a minute, but I think you are a victim of auto correct. Did you mean to say Gen 4 Glock 21? If so, I am sure someone will be along shortly to tell you where to find one that is a SSE. They also show up in the for sale section here as someone may have one they bought before moving to CA.

Good luck, and welcome to Calguns.

oopps my bad, should have double checked the spelling! i did mean glock 21 gen 4

would i be able to purchase this gun from a gun store in the bay area? and if so what is the SSE deal, can it be taken away and made normal again?

Welcome aboard! Im on the Penninsula also. Gen 4's pop up once in awhile here in the sales section. Ive seen a few 19's and 17's but no Gen 4 :(
Good luck on your quest to the Glock 21!

Here is a link to a thread about SSE handguns which includes some FFL info: http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/showthread.php?t=383692

thanks for the info, I have read that thread about the SSE and FFLs but am still a little unsure as to what exactly has to be done to the glock 21 gen 4 to make it legal in CA

Welcome aboard. If your willing to drive, they have them over at Valkyrie Arms here in Milpitas. I would call to check if in stock first. Here is a link:

They will install a 0-round sled preventing a magazine from being inserted or anything passing through the magwell. Also they'll replace the factory barrel with a longer barrel for SSE compliance.

Once you have posession of the firearm it's as simple as removing the compliance parts and reinstalling factory parts.

You can do that yourself, or take it to a gunsmith if you prefer (VA does offer gunsmithing services also.)

Just rember their hours are a bit unusual ( they all seem to have "day jobs"), and if you take a trip down "just to ask a few questions" make sure to leave your cash, ATM, and credit cards at home :)

I SSE'd a few pistols (over the years) and yes they were all very easy to un-convert. I highly recommend Valkyrie in Milpitas, but did dros my mini UZI pistol (made SSE in AZ prior to shipping) at City Arms in Pacifica.
Great to see another SF shooter on board.

Welcome ovlovturbo. Glad we got another Bay Area shooter!

I'm with 408er on visiting Valkyrie Arms for your Gen4. There are doing a Single Shot Exemption on an HK for me as we speak.

OP, luckily we have the single shot exemption now so the only handgun off limits for now is the Taurus Judge and guns of that sort.

Welcome to the forum and good luck.
