I only have experience with the Professional Ord uppers (taken over by Bushy) and the answer to your question is yes and no.

Yes, some uppers were made specifically to fit on a standard AR lower...Professional Ord did it when lots of people complained their uppers were not fitting on a standard AR and were not "mil-spec".

No, they were generally not made to other than the few that were mentioned prior. Their design was made to specifically fit on a Professional Ord lower.

Yes it will fit. You won't like the way it looks with the mix and match materials. I've got Bushmaster Carbon 15's (1 sealed magwell, 1 Prince50 maglocked) and Stags (yeah, plural). I tried it just out of curiosity. Got my answer, then separated them before I caused a rip in the time-space continuum.

Try it if you want, but you won't like it. Oh. Said that already. Sorry. :D

My CA Carbon15 upper has no forward assist or dust flap but with the carbon lower and collapsable stock, the combo is a nice light weight carbine. After seeing this thread I tried the upper on three "mil spec" aluminum lowers. It fit a POF, albeit tight. Twas a No Go on a Lauer and CMMG (could not get the rear pin in).
