My buddy finally got to shoot his warrior over the weekend. One problem, Kimber only gives you one magazine. Who makes the most reliable single stack magazine?

The standard Metal Form mags (7 rounders with the flat dimpled followers work well). There's a group buy in progress right now for Metal Form:

With the 40-399 pricing, the basic seven rounders are somewhere in the $7-8 range.

Chip Mccormick power mags (8 or 10 rounders), reliable on all my 1911's (3 Colts, 2 SA's, 1 Norinco, 1 Kimber, 1 Les Baer).

I run Wilson Combat 8 (7+1 cocked and locked) rounders in all my full size 1911s without incident.

Last time I looked most of the mags were made by one or two companies and just branded. I use Kimber 8rd PN#1000133 with only 7 in the stack. They work in my Colt GoldCup and Colt Commader without a problem, same as my old Colt blue and nickel steel ones do. I have not tried them with 8 because my brain is stuck on 7:p

I have tried the Kimber mag that came with my Warrior as well as Chip McCormick 8rd Power mags. They both sucked!!! I use Wilson 47Ds and their 10rd mags now. Will never use another company (I also noticed that the followers on the Kimber and CMC mags would scratch up the finish in the mag well ).

The funny thing is when I bought my first Kimber I asked the dealer "they only give you one mag" and he said "GOD bless them yes"

Sounds like you need a new dealer.

Wilson 47D is what I've been using in my Kimber, Colt's and Springfield. The funny thing is when I bought my first Kimber I asked the dealer "they only give you one mag" and he said "GOD bless them yes"

Mt dealer told my friend the same thing. He basically said thank them for giving you one because you only had to get rid of one mag :)

Wilson it is. I thought that was what our dealer recommended but neither one of us could remember. The dealer no longer works for the company so we couldn't ask him.

I have run all kinds in all my 1911's. They all work well, even surplus GI mags. However, there is something about the Wilson 47D's that I just like though. I use them pretty much exclusively.
