I just finished my first Romy AK build and will soon complete the second. Just for fun I took the furniture from the second Romy kit and hit it with the bench sander and some sand paper. It looks surprisingly good underneath all that grime and lacquer.

Did you remove the barrel to tap the trunion holes?

Very nice builds. Hopefully the laws will change one day so you can put the evil features back on!

What brand of receiver? Or is it a flat/blank build?

Looks like a NDS receiver, the company markings and serial number is under the front trunnion.

They are both NDS-3 receivers.

I had a guy thread the holes so I could use screws instead of rivits to put the rifle together. He did remove the barrel during that process.

Nice! What kind of screws did you use on the first one? Any chance we'll be seeing a U-47 sometime soon?

+1 on the u-47 question.

+1 on the u-47 question.

I actually kinda think the U-47 would be a waste of Toolbox's time. I was all excited about the AK Monsterman grip, but then I had the disturbing discovery, once I installed it, that I really can't tell whether I prefer the MM grip or completely gripless.

I can't think of anything along the lines of the U-15 that wouldn't have the same problems with the AK, although I would be quite pleased to be proven wrong.

Personally, I dont even see how themechanics of a U47 grip would work :/

I'm working on projects for the .308 AR and AK. I will also make a U-15 for the Sig 556 if I can ever get my hands on one.
