I purchased a GAP Crusader with a McMillan cheek piece and a GAP precision muzzle brake. I also ordered a Vortex Razor HD EBR - 2B with killflash to be mounted on my Crusader.
What I am concerned about is the other fees I will incur besides the FFL transfer fee?

Welcome to Calguns. I must admit that I am unsure what you are asking. If you ordered this from an FFL then they should have given you an out the door price.

Perhaps a few more details would assist us in answering your question.

What has me concerned is that I am buying from GAP in Kansas. Will I have to pay CA taxes since I paid in full before it ships? I also heard that you maybe required to pay a storage fee, if you you don't pick it up on time.

Gary at Bay Gun Vault will take care of me.
I am really forward to getting my Crusader and shooting it, since will be the first 3/8 inch MOA guaranteed rifle.

Hi Henry. The easiest thing that I can think of is for you to call Gary back and ask him what the total costs will be. While DROS is $25, an FFL can pretty much charge whatever they want to receive a shipped gun for DROSing.

You may want to post this question in the FFL forum here on Calguns, especially the part about any taxes.

Black Tyde Tactical;
I already have an Atlas with quick release and a Aim 60 Tactical drag bag. However I am interested in getting a good tactical sling and a rear bag. I do have a Midway shooting mat.

I also plan on getting an All - In - One Sniper Kit from Impact for keeping a record of how my Crusader shoots on different ammo. So I am pretty much set except for a few things.

ditto on what some folks say, just call your ffl that's accepting the transfer, and ask how much the fees are. in the future, you should shop around and see what FFL's can give you the better rate

Welcome aboard !

DROS fee + sales tax + a transfer fee............This is how most FFL's handle it.

The FFL you are having your firearm DROS'd through will have to charge you tax otherwise they end up having to pay it out of their pockets. As far as storage fees go, that's up to your FFL. Storage fees vary from place to place. Really good ones usually work with you!

Hope that answers your question some:seeya:

since will be the first 3/8 inch MOA guaranteed rifle.

So it is not your first rifle, meaning you are familiar with the process.

Why do you guys feed these obvious.............time wasters?

What is the return policy if the 3/8 MOA doesn't happen? After all it is GUARANTEED.

It is the first rifle that I need to have transferred.

GA Precision backs their rifles 100% so I am not worried about 3/8" inch MOA guarantee. Check the reputation on the web. Sniper's Hide is where I got my information for a great rifle and scope.

California BOE has been cracking down on FFLs to collect sales tax on out of state purchases.
It's not a new law... it's always been the law... but since guns have to be imported through an FFL and it is documented, it is enforceable.
Your 300 PayPal payments last year are unenforceable because it would be difficult to prove what payments were for new items vs used items (no tax), what transactions included tax, and finally, the amount of time it would take for the FTB to determine the eligibility of each transaction would exceed the revenue from the sales tax on a $10 transaction.

Beyond that, some FFLs charge storage fees if you do not pick up within 10-14 days, but it's rare and should be disclosed at the time of the transfer.

The only other "surprise" is if you do not have a safe, you will be required to purchase a $3 lock for $3-$25.

Welcome aboard! Just a friendly suggestion, most folks don't look into the "new to CG" area for questions so you might be better served looking/asking in the appropriate subforum.
