Taking a statistic, since SA seems to be focusing on full-size and SOCOM right now.

I havent seen one in ages. Actually there was one @ Ade's but it was a PPT. All the FFL's I've talked to have said that SA isnt making enough.

I think Turner's Outdoorsman carries them.

Never seen one. My local dealers are always carrying SOCOMs and fullsize standards, but never the scout.

I was in River City gun week before last and they had a couple with the fancy rail system.

I bought mine right after the Socom first came out. I ordered it and it came in about a week. Almost got the Socom but could not get over the fake feeling of the synthetic stock. The only Scout I have seen for sale was at Canyon Sports for $2000.00.

New ones are pretty scarce as I dont think Springfield makes them anymore. That plus that barrel length is gaining in popularity. You're best bet is to search the auction sites, boards and gun shows.

Last gun show I went to didnt have any. Lots of socom IIs and national match ones though.

Florida Gun Exchange has them for $1299 plus $25 shipping as of this weekend. I have one on order somewhere else or I'd jump on it.

I hear quite a few have been taken to Iraq by our guys. I pull mine out of the safe and shoot it once in a while. 300 yrd SR rapid prone string shows accuracy OK with good ammo. I can hold the 10 ring though with a NM.

Guns, Fishing & Others Stuff in Vacaville had one a week or two ago, not sure if it's still there. It was $1600 or so.

Luckily I just have to go to the safe to get mine. Shame Springfield doesn't make more of them, it's a much nicer package than the SOCOM IHMO.

i sold my full size poly a while back. i plan on replacing it with a scout/bush with chromebore.
i only see the loaded fulsize or nm. or socom and socom 2. i never see a bush or scout at the stores.

It seems like you can expect pretty decent accuracy out of these. Have any of you guys unitized the gas system or done any other of the more popular mods? I'm looking forward to mine showing up.

Got one that greets me in the safe too. Yes, supply is low on this model - but it is perhaps one of my favs. It's a great length - and without a reworked front gas port as the socom's have to have.. So far it has been good lighting up milk jugs way up into the air and causing mass havoc on 2 liter bottles of water.

Got one, NIB and willing to possibly trade for a socom if anyone is interested.

I found one for sale out in Montana and fell in love with it. All my buddies that have M1As say that they like the mobility of the scout and wish they had mine.

I had ordered one through Turner's back in March '06 and waited nearly two months before it finally came in.

right about the time the SOCOM came out. I got a really good deal because most folks want the SOCOM. I really love mine. Shoots great and is really accurate. They are worth the trouble and time to find one.
