I just picked up a new (to me) stainless PRO TLE/RL II. I already have a couple of SA .45's (a LW Champion and an early model Mil-Spec), but this is my first Kimber. I took it out to the range and ran about 200 rounds through it. There were no problems with CMC 6 round Power mags, but I did have a few first round FTF's with my 10 SA mags.

This pistol sure is a sweet shooter. The action of the slide on the frame is very slick. The previous owner had switched out the plastic mainspring housing with a flat, checkered steel one. I may change out the grips with a set of thinner ones and also add an ambi safety, but other than that, I am going to leave it pretty much bone-stock.

Finding a holster to fit wasn't too easy, but I finally found a Galco "Cop Slide" that works pretty good. I guess this model is not too common, so holsters are few and far between. The addition of my TLR-1 makes this a great "When things go bump in the night" gun......

I also have a Kimber Pro pistol - the CDP with "melted" slide. These 4 inch barrel 1911s seem the perfect size to me, and balance well in the hand. Mine has been reliable and accurate.

Very nice, I might be in the market for one now. I have a 3" SA 1911 but I like the rails and light combo. Thanks for posting the pics.

The Raptor is sweet.... I think it is the best looking pistol that Kimber or anyone makes!!!! When I was looking to buy my Kimber I was torn between a Pro Raptor and the stainless Pro TLE/RL. I found both for about the same price on GunsAmerica. As this is will be a work sidearm, the final decision for me was the stainless finish and the light rail, so the Pro TLE/RL got the nod.

When I can get the funds together, I may have to add a Raptor to my collection!!!!!

Congratulations.. I own 2 Kimbers and they are sweet shooters and very reliable. The longer you own, it the more you'll dig it...

I'm not really someone who gets hung up on aesthetics a lot, but I have to agree, the Raptor's definitely one of the best looking 1911s out there. In a field where there are lots of great looking guns, that one pulls ahead of the crowd.

We're still having issues but she can shoot well.

If the issues are failures to feed, you may want to add a bit of length to those rounds you are shooting. I've found Kimbers need a bit of the shoulder of the SWC to turn up the ramp. I had to throw out the rule of thumb of casing mouth at the shoulder and leave some exposed to get reliable feeding in .45. FWIW.

My OAL is set to 1.255" (max is 1.260") and my ramp and chamber have a mirror finish already. These measures took the gun from 3 misfeeds per mag to about 3 to 4 per 100. I'm beginning to think that this particular gun just plain hates LSWC profiles. I have about two hundred more of these LSWC rounds left to shoot. After it is finished I'll try the RNFP 180s.

I can't help it......there is just something about the Raptor that calls to me......
