What scope would you put on this rifle if it was yours.

I would like to put a close to medium range illuminated scope on it. I think I would like a low variable power. It must be good quality and rugged as hell. I am open to all opinions. Bipod will not be on the rifle. It’s only on it for the pic.

Heres what I have:
M1A Scout.
Sadlak Scope mount.
Arms 22L throw lever scope rings.
Arms 22 tactical rail cap. I may remove this from the rifle.
Optima 2000 for the ring cap. I may remove this from the rifle.

Pic with the tactical rail cap. I think it sits high.

Trijicon TR 21 1.25-4x, this is what I am buying next. Probably the best bang for the buck in scopes right now, very good eye relief and not much extra weight:cool:, also has the ability to adjust the dope without tools-something that is not available on much of the competition. They can be had for less than $600, looks like you have just about everything else you will need. BTW the TR 21 is a 1 inch tube so you will need ring spacers if those ARMS are 30mm.

I love my Aimpoint. You can get some with 2x magnification, or get the separate 3x magnifier. I'd get an acog if I had the money.

This is a great way to go. I run them on two of my guns. (not that that means anything I'm not very good) It's the winningest scope in major 3 gun matches.

Good luck

There is no such thing as a 3.5-10x40 MR/T ...you're probably talking about the 3-9x36 MR/T.

Has anyone tried a setup like this on an m1a. I want to go the los altos range tomorrow, havent been there in 10 years. I usually dont go to public ranges. I took the eotech off of another rifle. It does sit high. You guys are giving some good advice on the scopes. Do you think the next show at the cow palace will have some of these that you all listed.

The IOR scopes are great, but any of the VX-III or Mark4 scopes by Leupold are better.

What about this one. I think this would be a sweet setup also.
Mark 4 Scope 1.5-5x20 MR/T M2
Illuminated SPR Reticle
Has anyone used this one setup on a m1a

I agree.. I have one on my Tikka with those same throw rings he's using. It is a good combo. The scope is rugged and the throw rings work great. I remove my scope every sesson, but it always holds zero when I clamp it back on.
