i'm looking into getting a sig 556. came across this conversion. i would keep it original but it looks pretty promising for the swissarms look. :)

Ah, apparently Swissarms has their own lower.

The active serialized (i.e, requires paperwork/10day wait etc) receiver on a Sig 556 is the upper receiver. So even a true Sig 550 lower would work from a legal standpoint...

Converted SIG 551/556 author noted:
"SIGARMS did an EXCELLENT job duplicating the internals and functional parts of the
SwissArms 550 Series Firearms! For this reason, I do NOT suggest replacing any of these parts
with Swiss made parts. I cannot see any increase or enhancement if your rifles performance.

The gun feels great when firing.
Very similar to the Swiss guns, and MUCH better than any AR, for sure!!
My desire to use the 550 lower with the 556 was for aesthetic purposes only. "
Check out the SIG 556 with the SWAT handguards - much cooler, but heavier due to aluminum instead of lightweight plastic!
We have a couple of the SIG 556 rifles incoming CA compliant of course!
These rifles shoot better than the AR platforms due to the Swiss design. These are 1in7 twist cold hammered Swiss barrels for use with 52-77 gr 5.56mm ammunition!
