I'm going to check it out tomorrow. On a scale of 1-10 how good of a price is $300 for the ruski sks? This has the bayonet.

EDIT: I bought it thanks for everyone's quick responses and help.

A guy I know, also what's a good price for a old .45 coach gun? And a 30-30 coach gun?

CSACANNONEER

Coach gun? Are you talking about older lever actions? If so, prices very greatly. I've seen Sear's (made by Winchester pre-64) 30-30s go for $100-$150 but, the same pre-64 gun with a Winchester label (Yea, I know the quality of wood and the finish is different) could go for $500-$1500. Old Marlins can bring a pretty penny too. So, anyway, I'm not doing anything tomorrow in case you are short on funds and could use some extra cash to do a package deal.

thanks will let you know tomorrow. I looked these models up online so just have to wait till tomorrow to actually see them in person to see what models they are. I saved the researched items on my phone so I will check them before buying.

Nowdays if the gun is in 7/10 or better condition, $300 is a good price. If so, jump on it!

1953 r sks checked it out all numbers match (even the piston rod has matching number) and after taking the rifle apart I discovered it has never been fired, so I bought it. I will upload a picture later.

That's a lot of money for a cat. Even a German one. :D

But that sounds like one heck of deal on the SKS.

Like almost any gun (some comemoratives are never test fired) that is issued, ready for issue or offered for sale, it has been fired before.

Thanks......I also thouht the same thing and after I looked at it this morning I noticed the stock did not have any numbers and the frame was tapped for a scope and wood was notched, the bayonet was also missing, the frame was pollished (almost looked like onyx black) the bolt and frame numbers did match. And he wants $200 not $150

I agree I'm sure it was test fired but after it was sold it wasn't shot again there is still a little cosmo in it. The piston is spotless so is the gas hole on the barol and where the gas chamber meet. Also came with the original clean kit in the stock.

It's a beauty! The Russians would test fire and stamp a 1,2,3 or 4 to rate the guns accuracy on the base of the front sight. Here's hoping it's a #1.

I read somewhere on an SKS forum that the number stamped under the front sight for accuracy is just a myth. If it was true, there would be more 3's or 4's circulating than the 1's or 2's. Is there anyone out there that can validate?

Is it a Tula or Izhevsk?

It probably has been fired a bit. The box with the diagonal line through it on the receiver cover means it has been arsenal refurbished.

That's an rearsenaled SKS with a replacement Russian laminate stock (All Russian SKSs originally came with hardwood stocks). Many were sold that way when imported.
The arrow in the star symbol makes it a Tula.
Still a great buy for $300.
