So I finally went shooting last week and broke in my new Carbine. Well for one thing, my weapon is flawless! It only took me about a 6 months to complete.....

Check out some pics of my weapon.

This is what happens to 5/8 @ 150 meters with M855 (SS109) ammo. Get some!

Great looking build! Get yourself some AR400/500 Steel and they will bounce of next time.

As for the Carbine.

DD M4V4 complete upper (Omega X9 Rail)
DD LPK
Magpul CTR
LaRue buffer tube kit

And that's all I can afford for now....Will get an ACOG and some BUIS when I have more money:43:

Nice looking rifle! BTW, that has got to be the softest steel I've ever seen, typical result with SS109 against mild steel plate is normally about 1/4" penetration. Even 308 shooting 147 gr. FMJ will normally stop short of punching through 1/2" plate (Big dimples on the backside though).

To really make your steel targets last a long time, hang them up at 500 to 700 yards. At that range, the 5.56 and 7.62 pretty much just chip off paint :)

My neighbor works for the LA city water dept, and gets all kinds of steel to shoot at. I guess I'll be asking him to get something harder or I'll be practicing my 500 yrd slow fire skills with what he gives me :)

someone was shooting some of this steel out at spencevill and left it out there. I ended up shooting the crap out of it until there was pretty much nothing left.

The second best sound to hear is "tiiing" comming off a steel target.

The first, being your golf ball rattling around cup for a birdy :D

I'll see if I can get some pics up from a 1/4 inch steel sheet that was destroyed with 3 inch 7/8oz slugs from 30 yrds. The 2 3/4 1oz never made it through....
