A while back I bought an older (1954 vintage) Marlin 39A at a CA gun show. The seller accepted my offer and I walked away with the gun. Is this still a common practice for older guns? I ask because I'd like to sell a couple of older guns myself at the Cow Palace show. Used to do it all the time some years ago but in recent years I have not had a gun on the table for the few times I've rented one--have limited myself to ammo sales, reloading equipment, etc. I could list the guns I want to sell here on the Calguns site but I enjoy the gun show atmosphere and camaraderie. yah, I went to a gun show within the last few months, and my buddy bought a mosin off somebody. Just showed DL, signed some home made form and walked out with the rifle.

Until 01-01-2014, 50+ year old long guns can be legally transfered without the use of a CA FFL dealer. [PC 12078(t)(2)]

So, if the rifle or shotgun is 50 or more years old and being sold by a non-FFL dealer, it can legally be transfered via cash & carry.

Did I miss something about the C&R Laws changing? What happens on 1/1/14?

Unless it is mooted by some legal action, AB809 becomes effective then:
