Is the headspacing long, like longer than .043"? And has anyone ever shaved it down to .0425" for accuracy? Im tempted to do some home smithing on it since its an inexpensive rifle and because I like tinkering.

mines crazy accurate as is but I have built two 17m2s out of them. on those I trimmed the bolt face down to true it and set the barrel back to make contact. then I made a head space guage at minimum thickness and installed the barreltight up against it. after the barrel was set and pinned I put a go gauge in and lapped the bolt lug to the Go guage. with some ammo I still have to push alittle to close the bolt but Im happy DR
