Darn internet making me paranoid (isn't that a chicken or the egg statement)

I just picked up a new Eotech 512/A65 from a very reputable dealer. On the sight itself it says its manufacturing date was August 2011. On the outside of the paper sleeve it says "Inspected by F" and August 2011, but then on the bottom corner of the same sleeve it says Rev. D.

How can an Eotech made two months ago be Rev D? It has to be Rev F right? They just used an old sleeve? If its D I may take it back and call around for F given these things are not cheap.

Thanks.

Give EOTech a call on Monday and provide them with the serial number. They can tell if you for certain if it's genuine and if it's the most current model.

Does this matter somehow? Not trying to troll, just trying to figure out what difference it makes. Anyone care to enlighten?

Earlier models sometimes had issues with turning off randomly and excessive battery drain
